PAYG
ESB Energy PAYG rate costs from 29p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) from November 20th, 2020.
It operates on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no subscription or connection fees needed, you’ll only pay for the power used to recharge your electric vehicle (EV).
One-time anonymous transactions (via contactless) are subject to a connection fee of 50p.
Prepay
ESB Energy Prepay rate costs from 29p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) from November 20th, 2020.
It operates on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no subscription or connection fees needed, you’ll only pay for the power used to recharge your EV.
To pay, download the “EV Plug In” app where you can securely register your debit or credit card details.
You can load credit in multiples of £10 to your account.
A charge point access card is available to Prepay customers for a once off fee of £10.
Membership Subscription
Charge point access cards are provided free of charge as part of the membership package.
Replacement access cards will be charged at £10 each.
There are 2 membership subscription offers:
General Membership Subscription
ESB Energy Membership package costs £4.99 incl. VAT per month, usage costs from 25p* per kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity used.
There is a 12-month minimum term. ESB EV Solutions reserves the right to charge a cancellation charge equal to the subscription fee of the remaining term of the contract.
Taxi Membership Subscription
If you are a registered electric taxi driver, you can subscribe for free and usage costs from 25p* per kWh of electricity used.
Proof of a taxi license is required via the sign-up process.
Across all pricing options, a long stay fee of £10 may be applicable after one hour.
Contactless
Contactless is available across the majority of chargers in both London and Coventry.
On London chargers, the new PAYG rate of 30p/kWh will apply for contactless payment and a 50p connection fee will be applicable. There will continue to be no connection fee in Coventry and the per kWh rate will remain 29p.
At the end of the minimum term, customer memberships will automatically continue on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled.
All prices are inclusive of VAT at 20%.
*The 'from' pay for use rates refer to the cost to use the charging network in Coventry.
Pricing on London chargers is as follows and will be introduced on a phased basis in 2020/2021:

The new pricing structure will be introduced on a phased basis. The chargers at the following locations will remain at the current rate of 25p (29p for PAYG) until later in 2021:
